Help for Smart People Who Can’t Stop Worrying

When Your Brain Won’t Shut Up

You're the one everyone counts on. Meanwhile, your brain is running a 24/7 commentary track: replaying conversations, catastrophizing outcomes, and waking you at 3 AM to review things that went fine.

I work with people who've discovered that being smart doesn't mean you can think your way out of anxiety. Sometimes it just means you can catastrophize in high definition.

Why I Get It

I'm a Registered Psychologist with 25 years in Canada's top medical centers (CHEO, Ottawa Hospital, Alberta Children’s Hospital, BC Children's Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital) and digital health startups. I've led hospital initiatives and worked in high-pressure environments where 'just relax' is not a viable strategy.

I also live with OCD. It runs in my family. I've raised kids with the same wiring. I know what it's like when your brain offers you a terrible thought and then insists you take it seriously.

That combination—clinical training plus sitting in the same discomfort my clients do—means I can shortcut past the textbook version and talk about what this actually feels like.

How I Work

Evidence-based treatment (CBT, ERP) delivered like a conversation, not a lecture. I use humor because anxiety is absurd enough without making therapy feel like a performance review.

I draw cartoons—mostly for fun, but they seem to help people understand their anxiety better. I also have a YouTube channel with pre-pandemic videos if you want to see how I explain things (and what I looked like before 2020 aged us all). I started the channel mostly for my clients so they could review the skills at home and I’m hoping to find the time to create more videos this year.

I'm deeply into meditation and contemplative practice. I help people with busy brains learn to quiet them down through sitting meditation, meditative inquiry, and contemplative art. Artists and writers especially seem to resonate with this approach. If you're curious about that kind of awareness work alongside CBT/ERP, we can weave it in. If not, no problem.

Who I Work With

  • OCD & Intrusive Thoughts Contamination fears, checking loops, harm OCD, relationship doubt, perfectionism that paralyzes

  • Anxiety & Overthinking Social anxiety, health anxiety, imposter syndrome, analysis paralysis

  • Professional Burnout Tech/startup stress, physician wellness, high-performers who forgot how to rest

  • Neurodiversity Anxiety overlapping with ADHD, executive function struggles, learning differences

Beyond the Credentials

  • I'm a tech enthusiast—I draw my cartoons on a Cintiq, collect wearables like some people collect shoes, and my YouTube setup is unreasonably elaborate for someone who keeps meaning to post more videos.

  • I love coffee enough that I worked at Starbucks during grad school just to learn how to make a proper latte.

  • I make art to quiet my mind. Sometimes it works. Sometimes I just end up with a pile of sketches.

  • Reality TV is my guilty pleasure that I refuse to feel guilty about.
